Krista received her PhD in May 2007 from the University of Oklahoma. She is currently an Assistant Professor at Ashland University, Ashland, Ohio.   (9/08)

Giovanni ('00) and Alissa (Gilmore, '02) Monterroso are serving in Guatemala as volunteer missionaries. They have two sons, Colin and Ian.    (1/09)
  On Sunday, January 4, 2009, the prestigious award for a female student completing a dissertation in history was presented to Lindsay Moore ('01) by the Coordinating Council for Women in History (CCHW). Moore has been the recent recipient of two additional awards for her research work: the Columbian College Travel Grant from George Washington Columbian College of Arts and Sciences, in the amount of $5,000, and the Huntington Library Fellowship from the Huntington Library in San Marino, California, also for $5,000. Moore was also selected to present a paper at the regional Historilogical Society convention in Boston, Massachusetts in November 2008. She is currently organizing a panel for the 2009 national convention, at the request of the CCWH. The CCHW is a national organization for women in the historical profession and is designed to promote education and research in all areas of women’s history.    (1/09)

Katie (Farmer, '00) Smith, M.D., obstetrics-gynecology specialist, has established her practice with OU Physicians. She completed her obstetrics-gynecology residency and earned her medical degree at University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Katie and Jason ('02) and their daughter, McCall, live in Oklahoma City.   (9/08)

   Samuel Alex, born September 23, 2008 to Jon and Candice (Grier, '01) Mason.  He weighed 8 lbs. and 13 oz.  His proud parents say he is just precious and has reddish hair with beautiful blue eyes.  (10/08)
Jesika (Ernst, '01) Moore currently resides in Normal, Illinois where she is attending Illinois State University.  She will graduate in May 2009 as a Family Nurse Practitioner.  She was accepted for a Poster Presentation at Mayo Clinic Advaned Practice Nurse Symposium.  The research was on Pediatric Palliative care.  She presented it in late July.  She has been accepted into the National Honor Society for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau, XiPi Chapter at Illinois State University.  Jesika also won an award for an essay titled, "This I Believe:  Why I Chose Nursing."  She received a cash prize and read her essay at the Central Illinois Nurses Conference.  She loves serving the Lord in the field of nursing!     (10/08)

Jayson Wiles ('01) is teaching history at Central Junior High School in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD. He is also coaching basketball and freshman football. He and his wife, Colleen, and daughter, Maggie, are living in the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex.   (9/08)

Amanda (Hunt, '05) Keeter is a Development Officer - Corporate and Foundation Relations at Children At Heart Foundation.  The foundation proves communications, fundraising and estate planning services for the family of Children At Heart Ministries, including Gracewood, Miracle Farm, STARRY and Texas Baptist Children's Home.  She and husband, Matt ('06), are living in Round Rock, Texas.   (10/08)

 Stephanie Martin ('07) is living in Abilene, Texas and working at Dollar General. She and fiance, Dustin, are involved in martial arts. They hope to open their own school. Stephanie is still pursuing a career in music either at a school or at a church.   (1/09)
