Who is required to take this exam?
If you plan to matriculate in the fall 2009 semester and have not yet taken an entry exam (either SAT or ACT) and had the score report sent to SNU, you are required to take the residual ACT as part of the enrollment process.
When will the exam be given?
Check with the Admissions Office to see when the residual ACT exam will be given. You will have to reserve a space in advance (as described below).
Is it necessary to register for the exam before taking it?
Yes. In order for us to plan appropriately, we must know how many persons will be coming to take the exam on test day. In order for us to reserve a space for you, we must receive your test registration fee and application at least three days in advance of the test.
What is the cost of the exam?
The nonrefundable test registration fee is $45, payable by check, money order, or credit card to Southern Nazarene University.
To whom do I send the registration?
Your registration should be sent directly to the SNU Testing Center, 6729 NW 39th Expressway, Bethany, OK 73008. Please note the fee must be received three days in advance of the test to reserve your seat.
Is there anything else I need to know to take the exam?
Yes. When you report for the exam, you must present a legally verified, official photo identification document, such as a driver’s license or other photo ID issued by state or federal government. Unofficial identification (such as a social security card, welcome badge, or expired high school ID) is not sufficient for admission to the exam.
When will the exam results be available?
Exam results will be available within five working days after the exam. The test results are automatically forwarded to the SNU Registrar’s Office after being scored, and should show up on your UNIVISOR file within a week of the exam.
Can residual ACT results be used for athletic eligibility?
According to NAIA guidelines, residual ACT test results cannot be used to establish eligibility for student athletes. Such eligibility can only be derived from exam results taken on one of the national testing dates.
Can residual ACT results be used for scholarship eligibility?
Eligibility for scholarships can only be derived from ACT exams taken on national testing dates.
How are the ACT test results used?
Your exam results help us in making sure you are enrolled in the correct courses for your background preparation. The composite ACT score is used for placement into the appropriate general education advising track, and your English and Math scores help us make sure you get enrolled in the correct courses in those areas.
