What are the Allied Health Professions?
Allied Health professions are professions in the medical arena which can be entered upon completion of four, and sometimes five years of training. They include:
- Medical Technology
- Pharmacy
- Dental Hygiene
- Occupational Therapy
- Radiologic Technology - Radiography Option
- Clinical Dietetics
- Cytotechnology
- Physical Therapy
- Radiologic Technology - Nuclear Medicine Option
- Radiologic Technology - Ultrasound Option
- Physician's Associate Program
Degree Opportunities
While Southern Nazarene University does not offer degree programs in the allied health professions, students may earn their first two years of necessary college credit at SNU. A student's final two years may be completed at the University of Oklahoma's Health Science Center located near downtown Oklahoma City, (20 minutes from the SNU campus), or at the other large universities offering degrees in the allied health professions.
A number of excellent hospital facilities in the Oklahoma City metropolitan region may also present special opportunities to students entering specific allied health professions.
