Within Our Church
“…The word Nazarene symbolized the toiling, lowly mission of Christ. It
was the name that Christ used of Himself, the name which was used in
derision of Him by His enemies, the name which above all others linked
Him to the great toiling, struggling, sorrowing heart of the world. It
is Jesus, Jesus of Nazareth to whom the world in its misery and despair turns, that it may have hope.”
Consider the following:
SNU’s history is rooted in the church.
Early
day members were committed to helping students attend college. Without
their work and vision, SNU would not be what it is today.
Thus, SNU has an integral relationship with the Church of the Nazarene.
Nazarene
churches on the South Central Region of the Church of the Nazarene
provide SNU with financial support by allocating part of their annual
budgets to a fund for the college.
This is part of the church’s legacy on behalf of its beloved schools.
The University’s Office of Church Relations:
Assists pastors and constituents of the South Central Region;
Fosters support of the University;
Serves as liaison between the churches, the districts and the University;
Communicates SNU’s goals, purposes, plans and financial needs to churches;
