Evaluation for each course is the responsibility of the course instructor.
Evaluation of the student may include performance in the classroom, group participation, outside assignments, problem solving exercises, take-home tests, and examinations. The course syllabus will specify the method of evaluation. All assignments, unless specified otherwise in the syllabus, are to be individually completed by each student.
All coursework, including authorized rework of assignments, must be completed by the last night of a module unless defined otherwise in the syllabus. No rework or additional work for extra credit will be permitted once the instructor has submitted the course grades.
Grade reports on a modular basis are completed by the GSM Director and are furnished to students.
Following the first semester of the program those students in full standing and demonstrating satisfactory performance are eligible for candidacy. Candidacy is granted by vote of the graduate council. Refer to the graduate catalogue for further information on full and conditional standing.

Grade Points
Grade points are numerical weights, which are assigned to letter grades as follows:
4.0 system of grade points
Grade A carries 4 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade A- carries 3.67 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade B+ carries 3.33 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade B carries 3 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade B- carries 2.67 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade C+ carries 2.33 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade C carries 2 grade points for each hour of credit.
Grade C-, D or F carries 0 grade points for each hour of credit. (Course must be repeated.)
A grade point average (GPA) is the quotient obtained by dividing the number of grade points earned by the number of hours attempted.
Grade of ‘P’ receives no grade points and is not counted in the GPA.
Probation Status
Graduate students are required to maintain an overall minimum GPA of 3.0. If a student’s GPA falls below 3.0 the student will be placed on probation status. Failure to bring GPA into compliance within nine credit hours will result in student’s termination from the program.
Deferred Credit/No Credit
Students’ academic progress is continually monitored by the Graduate Studies in Management office. A deferred credit (DC) indicates incomplete work in a regularly scheduled course at the time the final grade is due. All DC grades must be completed within two weeks following the module in which they are received, unless an exception is cleared with the instructor and the GSM director. If the deadline is not met, the DC is converted to the letter grade specified at the time the DC was initially assigned.
A no credit (NC) is given as a result of absences from class due to illness or other emergencies. NC is assigned after the first 12 credit hours in those cases where prerequisites and full standing have not been achieved.
