The SNU Equestrian Center is located approximately one mile west of the main campus in Bethany, Oklahoma on 116 acres of pasture and woodland.

SNU moved its six horses from ten acres in Yukon to the current location in Bethany in 1999.  A building was donated that would serve for the only barn on the property, and it was outfitted with six stalls, a class room, and a tack room.  Two roundpens were then built, along with an arena for more in depth training.

This is an arial picture of the barn when it was first moved to Bethany.  Since then we have added a second, fully insulated barn, equipped with four stalls and a foaling stall, a breeding lab and breeding dummy, and concrete floors.  We have also added a cutting pen, equipped with a training flag to work our cutting horses.

This arial shot of our barn as it is today includes the second barn that was added, along with a shaded red section showing the spot where a new indoor arena is to be built.  The dimensions of the new arena will be 130' x 120' and it will seat 150 people.  The rectangular extensions off of the sides will serve as the rooftops for covered stalls, and the square extension coming off the front will be the new main office and restrooms.

Under the supervision of Mr. Bill Bowen, the Equestrian Center employs students to carry out day-to-day operations and maintenance. Employment opportunities at the center provide students an environment to learn first hand the practical aspects of facility management and horse care.  For employment information call the barn at 405-495-1489.
