Nursing Faculty Position Announcement

Position: Faculty position in Nursing beginning August 2009; full-time; 9-month annual contract
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in nursing or related field (or nearing completion) with a master's degree in nursing.
  • Active, unencumbered registered nurse license in Oklahoma.
  • Commitment to academic excellence; demonstrated teaching ability and ethusiasm for student interactions.
  • Evidence of professional activity and service in the discipline of nursing.
  • Commitment to evangelical Christian, liberal arts education in the Wesleyan-holiness tradition
  • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Southern Nazarene University.
Responsibilities:

  • Teach in the graduate program in both the Bethany, OK and Tulsa, OK campuses.
  • Participate in student recruitment.
  • Participating in assigned committees and other responsibilities in the SNU School of Nursing and the University as a whole.
Rank and Salary: Open to all ranks. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Benefits include health insurance, professional development, rank advancement opportunities, retirement matching, etc.
The School of Nursing: The School of Nursing offers two Master of Science degree programs - one in nursing education and one in nursing leadership. The graduate programs are designed to be completed in as little as 19 academic months. The SNU School of Nursing is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and approved by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing. The faculty is committed to the integration of faith, learning and living by incorporating Christian principles into daily conduct and the practice of nursing.
