Southern Nazarene University’s alcohol policy for students enrolled in traditional programs is a lifestyle policy in that it addresses the use and possession of both alcohol and drugs on and off campus. The policy calls for abstinence, stating that the use and /or possession of alcoholic beverages and illegal drugs on or of campus is prohibited.
For students enrolled in the Adult and Graduate Studies programs, the possession and use of alcohol is prohibited while on campus.
Students under the age of 21 should understand that legal sanctions also apply for unlawful possession or distribution of alcohol, and that for illicit drugs, legal sanctions apply for any age. A student involved in violation of these policies will enter the disciplinary process of the university, in addition to accountability to the legal system that may be required.
The possession and/or use of tobacco is prohibited on or off campus for students enrolled in traditional programs. For students enrolled in Adult and Graduate Studies programs, smoking is not permitted on campus or in campus/classroom facilities.
