New Library Online Catalog and Discovery Searching in Fall

Innovative Interface's Millennium Integrated Library system is being installed this fall to permit "Google-type" searching of the library's new online catalog as well as library databases, online periodicals, government documents, and other available materials from one search box.  The new catalog will be available after Fall Break.  Librarians are migrating and updating records this summer.

SNU Library receives two grants

The library recently received two grants:  (1) Threats to Your Collection grant of $1,000 from the Oklahoma Department of Libraries to provide storage supplies for the Fred Floyd Archives  (2) Federal IMLS partnership grant with the University of Oklahoma to provide full scholarships and training opportunities to master's level students who want to become academic librarians and obtain an online degree through OU.

Fred Floyd Archives relocates to first floor

The Fred Floyd Archives has relocated from the third floor of the R. T. Williams Learning Resource Center to a much larger, more accessible space on the library's first floor.  The new location (formerly occupied by bound periodicals) provides a controlled storage area for the archival files as well as an office, workroom, and the new Paul Gray Reading Room, which will officially open at 2009 Homecoming, November 7.

SNU Yearbooks online

SNU Yearbooks are being scanned for online viewing and searching on the Archives webpages.  They begin with the 1920 Bethanian.  Go to SNU Yearbooks and enjoy virtually turning the pages.
