Sociology Department
Introduction
Students who major in sociology are interested in people and in knowing why they behave as they do. They ask questions about relationships, race relations, power in societies and cultural differences. They want to know about the sources of today's social problems. They want to talk about these issues and they want to learn more about their society. They are anxious to make a difference in their world.
Objectives
The SNU Sociology Department assists students in the development of a sociological perspective for interpreting human social behavior. Professors encourage the development of personal and professional responsibility as educated persons of faith. Graduates of the department are prepared for graduate study, or entry into a number of professional positions in the sociology career field.
