Currently I split my time between directing our Academic Grants office and teaching English, mostly British literature and General Education service courses. My PhD is from the University of Kansas (1983) in English literature. I completed my dissertation on THE FAERIE QUEENE, a 16th-century allegorical poem by Edmund Spenser.

I have been working in grantwriting since 2000 and currently serve as Director of SNU's Academic Grants Office. I've collaborated with many others on campus to secure grants from federal and foundation sources totaling more than $17 million to support quality academics at SNU.

I have been teaching/working at SNU since 1983, and have served in a number of administrative capacities: General Education Director and as Vice Provost for Academic Administration, coordinating the institution's HLC accreditation self-study preparations. I have been actively involved with the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities (CCCU), especially with the CCCU's Programmes in Oxford.

I am an inveterate traveler to all parts of the UK, having notched up more than 30 trips to date. When not working, I am usually reading, playing with a basset hound, or planning the next trip.
