Dr. Laura Hines has served in the SNU School of Nursing since 2020. Laura brings a vast amount of experience to our nursing students with previous experience in:
- Northern Oklahoma College/Nursing, Nursing Instructor, taught theory & clinical, specialized in disaster management and accompanied my students to disaster simulations, 2014-2018
- Holmes, Yates & Johnson, Legal Nurse Consultant for malpractice suits, 2003-2015
- Golden Villa Adult Day Care (non-for-profit United Way Agency and sat on the Directors' Board), RN and Executive Director, 1999-2004
- St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, RN/Pain Management Coordinator/certification from Mary Lou Perrin, MSN, RN at Baptist/ worked in ICU and Medical unit (later becoming med/surg), ACLS and code team, on-call for emergency ambulance transfers when the helicopters could not fly, a responder to state disasters including the Murrah Building bombing, taught I Can Cope for community outreach to our county cancer patients and their families and provided the most up to date pain management education to physicians with board meetings, chaired the Ethics and Policy & Procedure boards, 1987-1996
- St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Nurse Tech in ICU and Med/Surg, 1988-1990
- Shawn Manor Nursing Home, Nurses Aide, 1987-1990

Hobbies or fun fact: I love to travel and connect the history to where I go, painting with acrylics, gardening, restoring old furniture.
