Dr. Aaron Thompson

Dr. Thompson joined the SNU faculty in 2019. Aaron taught primarily physical education and health for twelve years at the K-12 level in both a public and private Christian school setting in Illinois. In addition to teaching, Aaron has also served as an athletic director and coached volleyball and basketball at the K-12 level.

Dr. Thompson began his higher education career at Olivet Nazarene University where he worked for 10 years as a faculty member in the Exercise and Sports Science Department. Aaron also served as department chair for two years at ONU. Dr. Thompson has a passion for physical education and health. His doctoral dissertation research examined the impact high school physical education has on the physical activity habits of traditional college freshmen. Aaron is a member of the Society of Health and Physical Education (SHAPE America).

Dr. Thompson’s wife, Dawn, teaches at the SNU Lab School and they have three daughters. Aaron loves to ride many miles on his bicycle and has completed multiple century rides.
