Biography

Andrea began teaching at the SNU Lab School in 1996. She has a B.A. in Early Childhood Education, a certificate in Elementary Education and an M.A. in Curriculum and Instruction. She has also taught in Putnam City Public Schools.

Miss Andrea says that she believes that every student/teacher wants and needs to be encouraged. She believes her job is to be the biggest cheerleader for each and every student/teacher. Students and teachers are able to learn best when they feel confident to try and have hope that they will succeed. When asked what her favorite subject/unit to teach, she says she has always loved teaching math. She loves showing students how math builds upon itself and you can apply what you know to the next level. She also loves when students share how they were able to figure out the problem. So many different ways to learn and solve problems!

The Guy family includes husband, Matt, daughter, Maylou, and son, Caleb. When not working, Andrea loves to play games with her family, being a part of small groups in Women’s Ministry, and to go shopping! Going to the beach is a summer favorite and now traveling.
Favorite Verse: “Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy; no shadow of shame will darken their faces.” Psalms 34:5
