- Build a relationship with someone that doesn’t look like you – When we have people in our lives who don’t look, act, and think as we do, it enriches our experience.
- Listen – Even when people around you may express ideas that are different from your own, extend the respect you would hope to receive and listen. Engage and ask questions, you’ll never know what you might learn!
- Continually run everything you hear, read, and see on socials through the filter of God’s Word – Not everything you see or read on the internet is true, be sure any strong stance you are taking aligns with the values of Christ.
- Interact with someone you don’t know – Life is better in community. You never know who might be your next friend. Go ask someone to meet for coffee and ask them to tell you their story.
- Get out of your box – It is easy to stay in the same rut of day-to-day tasks or routines. Go out and try new food, find a new hobby, or learn a new skill. You never know how it will enhance your life.
