Inspired by SNU, Investing in its Future: Steve and Michelle Livingston

As students, Steve ’92 and Michelle (Banz) ’93 Livingston found a commitment to Character, Culture, and Christ that impacted them far beyond their days on campus at Southern Nazarene University.

Steve took advantage of a job training program to come to SNU where he says, “It was exactly what I expected. All of it. The way the professors lived their lives and the students that I interacted with solidified the Christian walk I’d learned.”

Michelle grew up at Bethany First Church and was excited to receive a basketball scholarship from SNU. “Although there were some other schools I received contact from, I always thought I’d be at the school I knew about the most.”

They both count their time at SNU as being the most transformative in their lives. Being surrounded by purposefully different faculty and staff “can and will make an impact on eternity,” Michelle said. “I know first-hand the impact in a student’s life. Memories of those mentors who daily lived out their faith and walk with Christ continue to inspire me to do the same for others.”

The Livingstons continue to invest in SNU because they love partnering with others to make Christ-like disciples through higher education. They want to “help others in the same spot” they were in, Steve said.

They are committed to making sure that Southern Nazarene University is a place where today’s students can “be involved in activities, find a place to serve, and grow your faith and your walk with Christ.”

You can invest in students too! Now through December 1, all gifts at snu.edu/givingtuesday will be matched $1 for $1, up to $100,000. Thank you in advance for giving!
