New Nazarene Heritage Scholarship Awarded to Inaugural Recipients

[Bethany, Okla.] - This fall, Southern Nazarene University will award eight students the Marchant Presidential Heritage Scholarship. This marks the inaugural year of the scholarship, which recognizes students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a meaningful connection to the Church of the Nazarene.

Applicants were required to hold a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5, earn an ACT score of at least 28 or an SAT score of at least 1300, plan to enroll at SNU as a first-time, full-time student, and demonstrate Nazarene heritage through one of two ways: active membership or regular attendance at a Church of the Nazarene, or a parent, grandparent, or guardian with Nazarene affiliation.

To maintain the scholarship, recipients must participate in monthly leadership development meetings alongside SNU Presidential Leadership Scholars, serve eight hours per month as an SNU Ambassador, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3.

The scholarship provides up to $15,000 annually, with half of the award applied each semester. The Fall 2026 recipients of the inaugural Marchant Presidential Heritage Scholarship are listed below.

Freshmen: Raelene Ward,  Bradley Keeter  

Sophomores: Megan Stevens, Lal Puia

Juniors: Trudy Hein, Hailey Dunnington

Seniors: Leah Brown, Abi Paul
