[Bethany, OK] - Starting in Fall 2026, Southern Nazarene University will offer a new competitive scholarship opportunity for Nazarene students and students with Nazarene family heritage. The Marchant Presidential Heritage Scholarship will award up to $15,000 annually to recipients, and applications are now open.

Dr. Steve Betts, Vice President for Enrollment and Student Success, highlights the purpose behind the scholarship, saying, “The Marchant Presidential Heritage Scholarship recognizes high-achieving students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership potential, and a meaningful connection to the Church of the Nazarene. This scholarship supports students who seek to integrate faith, learning, and service while contributing positively to the campus community.”

The application includes submission of a resume, essays, letters of recommendation, and proof of Nazarene heritage.

Applications are open now, and close on May 11, 2026. Recipients will be notified by May 22, 2026. Six finalists for the award will be chosen by a committee composed of SNU administrative leadership, with two winners selected by President Dr. Keith Newman.
