FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[Bethany, OK] - The School of Music at Southern Nazarene University is preparing to present its own rendition of Big Fish, a musical adaptation of the novel and film of the same name, on March 6 and 7, 2026. The production will feature three performances, beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 6, followed by additional showings at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 7. All performances will take place in Herrick Auditorium, located on the Bethany campus of Southern Nazarene University.

Big Fish follows the story of Edward Bloom, “a traveling salesman whose fantastical stories captivate everyone, frustrating his son, Will, who is expecting his first child and wants the truth about his father before Edward’s life ends. The show blends present-day reality with Edward's mythic past as Will journeys to separate fact from fiction and discover the true, loving man behind the myths.” Through this layered storytelling, the musical weaves imagination and emotion into a deeply personal narrative.

Professor Becky Ambrosini, Musical Director, says, “This show blends magical realism with family drama, exploring love, life, and legacy through the passing down of family stories.” SNU’s production of Big Fish, led by Ambrosini and Stage Director Aubrey Ross Rock, features four actors sharing the two roles of Edward Bloom at different stages of life. Alec Danley and Cooper McKee will portray the young Edward Bloom, while Jacob Mash and Connor Padgett will bring to life the older Edward Bloom.
