Storm the Road with SNU Alumni and Friends

Storm the Road: Tennessee & North Carolina

SNU is announcing our first opportunity to travel with SNU Alumni & Friends and the launch of Storm the Road travel program.

Join us April 23-29, 2025 for our trip from Bethany, OK to Asheville, NC with stops in Memphis, Nashville, and the Gatlinburg-Area. Tennessee’s limitless entertainment options, North Carolina’s Blue Ridge Mountains, and the people of SNU will make for an unforgettable week together.

The wonderful itinerary we have planned for this 2025 trip includes the following:
*subject to change

Day 1: Travel Day & Bill Clinton Presidential Library

We leave SNU to Storm the Road to Tennessee & North Carolina. We will enjoy lunch and a visit at the Bill Clinton Presidential library in Little Rock, AR. The library houses replicas of the Oval Office & Cabinet Room, and an actual presidential limousine. We will stop in Memphis for a good night’s rest in anticipation of our Memphis visit with Elvis and our two nights in Nashville.

Day 2: Elvis Presley’s Graceland & Grand Ole Opry

We start our day visiting Elvis Presley’s Graceland. We tour the mansion and enjoy Elvis museums, restaurants, gift shops, and more. After our road trip to Nashville we will take in a delicious dinner and hopefully a show at the Ryman Auditorium or Grand Ole Opry.

Day 3: The Parthenon & Centennial Park, Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, & Country Music Hall of Fame

We wake up in Music City full of expectation for the one of the world’s largest museums, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum. We will take in the full-scale replica of the original Parthenon in Athens, Greece at Centennial Park. We will finish our visiting the gardens and mansion at Andrew Jackson’s Hermitage, the homeplace of our nation’s 7th president.

Day 4: Travel Day & Biltmore Estate

We make our way deeper into the mountains to Asheville, NC for a two-night stay. We will enjoy the afternoon at Biltmore Estate, America’s Largest Home. Completed in 1895, George Vanderbilt’s 250-room chateau will be a trip highlight—there are 43 bathrooms!

Day 5: Great Smoky Mountains Railroad & North Carolina Arboretum

On this day of rest, we will board a train for our Nantahala Gorge Excursion on the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride. Nestled in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, we will finish our day with time to stroll through The North Carolina Arboretum.

Day 6: Travel Day & Dollywood

As we start to make our return to SNU we make a morning stop in Pigeon Forge, TN for a visit at Dollywood. You will have time to take in Eagle Mountain Sanctuary, enjoy live shows, and amble down Craftsman Valley where artisans create gifts like candles, glass, and leather. We continue to the west part of TN for an overnight stay before journeying home.

Day 7: Travel Day

This is our last day as we travel back to the campus of SNU. We will enjoy our final moments and reflect on our amazing journey as we stop for delicious meals and scenic rest stops.
