Science Scholars scholarship recipients are asked to remain an active and contributing members of the math and science community of SNU through such activities as attending the weekly research symposia (or giving a research presentation when the time is right!), tutoring, participating in science outreach, and of course, fellowshipping with your fellow scholars across the four years.
Academic Resume and Essay
To apply for Science Scholars Day, you must complete an academic resume and short essay and have it ready to upload in a Word doc, docx, or pdf format. Here is a sample of a good academic resume. You don’t have to follow the same format but try to include similar information.
The sample resume provided does not include an essay but you should add a short essay to the end of your resume which addresses this prompt:
Science has multiple faces. Describe one ugly face of science, and one beautiful face of science.
There is no minimum or maximum length requirement; you are encouraged to be descriptive but concise. Please know that we faculty value students who are good thinkers and reflective about life – we look forward to what you have to say.
You’ll upload your academic resume (with essay) at the end of the application form below. Please take this resume/essay requirement seriously – some applications are delayed because the applicant forgot or neglected this step.
