Carl and Anna Hamilton: A Legacy Rooted in Faith

For Carl and Anna Hamilton, SNU was more than just the place they earned their degrees- it was the beginning of a lifelong journey of faith, family, and service.

Carl came to BNC (SNU) through his Nazarene church community in Arlington, Texas. Anna, originally from Tulsa, followed a close friend from church to BNC.

Once in Bethany, it didn’t take long for their paths to cross. “I met my future wife (Anna) the first week on campus,” Carl said. That encounter shaped the rest of their lives. Both pursued careers in accounting, becoming Certified Public Accountants and building a successful practice together for nearly five decades. Along the way, their friendships and church connections—many rooted in their days at BNC—remained an irreplaceable part of their lives.

Their faith was strengthened in countless ways during their college years. Anna reflected, “I already had a faith in God coming to SNU, but it was strengthened through questions I had, talks with my professors, and learning to follow each little turn in my road that kept me focused on what God was doing.”

Today, the Hamiltons continue to give back to SNU because they believe in the mission of Christian higher education. “We believe in the principles and Christian beliefs that are taught at the university and want the institution to continue to be a source for a quality education and spiritual development,” Carl explained.

Anna added, “There is something special about having your professor start a class with prayer and knowing they truly care about you.”

Looking ahead, Carl and Anna are hopeful for the future impact of SNU. “We see SNU as a great Christian institution for the long term, with a substantial impact not just on the OKC area but also nationally and internationally,” Carl said. Anna echoed that vision, adding, “My prayer is that truth will be spoken to the students through SNU and that a continual light will be placed on how God directs each little turn in their lives.”

Carl and Anna’s story is a great example of how an SNU experience can shape a life, as well as future generations.
