Showing Up Every Day: Kaseton’s Story
Finance major Kaseton Farris came to Southern Nazarene University with a willingness to work hard and a curiosity about the world of business and finance. Now, that same determination shows up everywhere in his life—from the golf course to the classroom to leadership roles across campus.
Kaseton was drawn to finance because it connects strategy, decision-making, and opportunity.
“I enjoy understanding how money, investing, and business decisions work together,” he says.
But his path to becoming a college golfer didn’t begin the way you might expect.
“I actually didn’t start playing golf until my senior year of high school,” Kaseton explains. “Coming to SNU, I was competing with people who had played much longer.”
Instead of discouraging him, the challenge strengthened his work ethic.
“It pushed me to work harder, stay disciplined, and overcome adversity,” he says.
Golf is more than just a sport for Kaseton. The discipline he needed to improve his game has shaped how he approaches every part of his college experience. Balancing practices, travel, coursework, and leadership responsibilities requires careful time management and a commitment to showing up day after day.
Kaseton carries this responsibility into his role as SALT (Student Activities Leadership Council) Finance Lead, where he helps manage budgets for student events and organizations across campus.
“I’ve learned how to be organized, make responsible financial decisions, and work with different teams to support events that benefit the student body,” Kaseton says.
Behind the scenes of Kaseton’s experience at SNU is something just as important: stability. Like many students, his ability to focus on school depends on scholarships and program support made possible through generous donors like you.
Those gifts create something students can count on.
Just like Kaseton practices his swing day after day, donors like you faithfully show up for SNU students through consistent generosity.
Thanks to this support, SNU students can pursue their passions, develop leadership skills, and prepare for the future with confidence—without the constant pressure of financial uncertainty.
