Dr. Brittany Cummings Named Chair, SNU School of Nursing

Southern Nazarene University is pleased to announce the naming of Dr. Brittany Cummings as the chair of the School of Nursing. Brittany graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Southern Nazarene University (2014) and earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree with an emphasis in Family Nurse Practitioner from Oklahoma City University (2018). Her clinical experience includes four years in intensive care and intermediate care in pediatric and adult settings. Brittany previously served as an adjunct professor with Southern Nazarene University in 2018 and joined the team as a full-time faculty member in January 2019. Certifications include Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (2018), as well as current certifications in American Heart Association’s Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Basic Life Support. Professional memberships include Sigma Theta Tau National Honor Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Brittany grew up attending Yukon First Church of the Nazarene and was a part of the Southwest Oklahoma District. Brittany grew up close to the campus of SNU and has many great memories at SNU. Brittany has been married to her college sweetheart, Chris, for 6 years. We’re grateful to have Dr. Brittany Cummings on our team!
