Day 1 – Monday, April 5: Travel to Albuquerque
Begin our adventure with an early morning departure from Southern Nazarene University as we make our way west toward Albuquerque, New Mexico. Along the journey, we will enjoy scheduled restroom and meal breaks before arriving in Albuquerque. This evening, experience breathtaking views from the Sandia Peak Tramway as we rise above the city and take in the beauty of the surrounding mountains and desert landscape. We will conclude the evening with a casual dinner at Ten3 before traveling to our hotel for a restful night. Meals Included: Dinner
Day 2 – Tuesday, April 6: Travel to Flagstaff and Lowell Observatory
Continue our journey west toward Flagstaff, Arizona, traveling through the beautiful landscapes of the Southwest. Upon arrival, enjoy time exploring downtown Flagstaff, a charming mountain community known for its historic character, local shops, and inviting atmosphere. This evening, discover the wonders of the night sky at Lowell Observatory, where we will have the opportunity to explore the universe and learn more about the stars, planets, and scientific discoveries that have expanded our understanding of creation. Settle into our Flagstaff accommodations and prepare for the incredible adventures ahead.
Day 3 – Wednesday, April 7: Grand Canyon Railway and the South Rim
Today brings one of the most memorable experiences of our journey as we travel aboard the Grand Canyon Railway from Williams to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. Begin the morning with the entertaining Western Shootout before boarding the train for a scenic ride through the Arizona landscape. Enjoy lunch on the train as we make our way toward the Grand Canyon. Upon arrival, take part in a guided tour of the South Rim, followed by time to explore Grand Canyon Village and take in the breathtaking views of this remarkable natural wonder. We will gather for dinner at the historic El Tovar Lodge before returning to Flagstaff for the evening.
Day 4 – Thursday, April 8: Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend
Travel north through the scenic Arizona landscape toward Page, where we will experience some of the Southwest’s most extraordinary natural wonders. Along the way, stop at Cameron Trading Post for a chance to explore and enjoy the unique atmosphere of this historic destination. Continue to Upper Antelope Canyon for a guided tour through its stunning sandstone formations, where light, color, and sculpted rock create an unforgettable experience. After lunch on your own in downtown Page, visit Horseshoe Bend and take in the sweeping views of the Colorado River as it curves through the canyon landscape. Return to Flagstaff in the evening for dinner on your own and a relaxing night at the hotel.
Day 5 – Friday, April 9: Scenic Sedona Tour
Spend the day exploring the incredible beauty of Sedona, Arizona, known for its striking red rock formations, scenic landscapes, and charming atmosphere. Enjoy a scenic tour through the area, taking in the breathtaking views and unique geological features that make Sedona such a special destination. We will also visit Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village, a beautiful destination filled with distinctive architecture, art galleries, boutiques, and opportunities to enjoy
the local atmosphere. This day offers time to appreciate the beauty of the Southwest while discovering the creativity and character of one of Arizona’s most memorable communities.
Day 6 – Saturday, April 10: Travel to Santa Fe
Depart Flagstaff and continue east toward Santa Fe, New Mexico, a city celebrated for its rich history, distinctive architecture, and vibrant arts and culture. Upon arrival, enjoy time exploring Santa Fe Plaza, the historic heart of the city, surrounded by shops, galleries, and local attractions. Later, experience Meow Wolf, an imaginative and immersive art experience that invites visitors into a world of creativity, storytelling, and unexpected discoveries. This evening gives us an
opportunity to enjoy the unique character of Santa Fe before preparing for our return journey.
Day 7 – Sunday, April 11: Return to Southern Nazarene University
After breakfast, begin our journey back to Southern Nazarene University. As we travel home, reflect on the incredible experiences of the past week, from the majestic Grand Canyon and stunning red rock landscapes to the beauty of the Southwest and the creative experiences we shared along the way. We hope this adventure has created lasting memories, meaningful conversations, and a deeper appreciation for the wonder and beauty of God’s creation.
