Biography
Dr. Ruiz Esparza has dedicated over 30 years to Christian education. His experience spans work at both Christian K-12 schools and higher education. In his K-12 roles, he has been a Bible teacher, dean of students, principal, and head of school. In higher education, he has held various positions, including admissions, adjunct instructor, dean of student life, and vice president for institutional effectiveness.He joined SNU in the summer of 2025 as an Assistant Professor and Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs for Professional Graduate Studies. He teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in organizational leadership. His previous higher education experience includes leading strategic initiatives, developing market analysis for new programs, partnering with deans to develop and launch new programs and certificates, designing courses, managing accreditation processes, and establishing structures to improve operational efficiency. These experiences form the foundation for his administrative role as AVP for Academic Affairs. His goal in Christian education is to create transformational educational experiences rooted in Christ and the Word of God.
He has been married to his wife, Jodie, for over 33 years, and he has three children, two of whom are married, and the third is engaged.
Hobbies and Fun Facts:
He enjoys traveling with his wife to NYC, Philadelphia, and abroad, as well as dining out to try good local ethnic foods.
