Rose State College and Southern Nazarene University Sign New Articulation Agreement at Business Leadership Event

For Immediate Release

Bethany, OKSouthern Nazarene University (SNU) and Rose State College officially signed a new articulation agreement on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, strengthening transfer pathways between the two institutions and expanding academic opportunities for Oklahoma students. The signing took place during SNU’s Business Leadership Network (BLN) gathering, a monthly initiative organized and hosted by Mr. Ruben Reyes, Assistant Director of PGS Marketing – Outreach.

The agreement creates seamless transfer options for Rose State students entering SNU’s Professional and Graduate Studies (PGS) programs. It clearly outlines transferable coursework, promotes early academic advising, and supports learners seeking degree completion and career advancement.

This partnership reflects our shared commitment to removing barriers and ensuring students have a clear, efficient path toward completing their education,” said Dr. Melissa Lewis, Vice President for Academic Affairs for Professional and Graduate Studies at SNU. “We are excited to collaborate with Rose State and welcome their students into our community of learners.”

Mr. Travis Hurst, President of Rose State College, attended the event and offered remarks in support of the agreement, highlighting the value of local institutions collaborating to meet the state's educational and workforce needs.

BLN on the Road-22

The Business Leadership Network provided a meaningful setting for the signing, with leaders from both institutions, local businesses, and the community in attendance. Reyes, who helped facilitate the partnership, emphasized the importance of connecting education and economic development.

“This is exactly what the BLN is designed to do—bring together decision-makers to build bridges between schools and the communities they serve,” said Reyes. “We’re proud to be part of something that directly benefits students and strengthens our region.”

Key highlights of the articulation agreement include:

  • Streamlined transfer pathways from Rose State associate degrees into SNU bachelor’s programs

  • Joint advising support to maximize transferable credits and reduce time to degree

  • Expanded access to SNU’s flexible, career-relevant academic offerings, both online and in-person

This collaboration adds to Rose State College’s growing list of articulation partnerships and affirms SNU’s ongoing effort to provide accessible education for adult learners across the region.
