SNU Announces 2026 President’s Award Recipients
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Bethany, OK] - Earlier this May, as part of baccalaureate proceedings, Southern Nazarene University honored two graduating seniors with the President’s Award, the highest honor given to students and awarded by faculty, staff, and administration in recognition of Christian service, leadership, and scholarship.
This year’s recipients are seniors Bethany Crouch and Josh Nelson, selected from eighteen nominees.
Bethany Crouch graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in English. During her time at SNU, she served as captain of the equestrian team, an Honors peer mentor, editor of the 2025 edition of SNU’s Authentic Expressions magazine, an intern in the SNU library, a math tutor, and a junior marshal during the 2024–2025 commencement ceremonies. She was also recognized as Outstanding Honors Student during both her junior and senior years. In addition, she is a founding member of Grub For Grove, a program addressing food insecurity among elementary students. After graduation, she plans to pursue a Master of Library and Information Science and work in a local library in Olathe, Kansas.
Josh Nelson graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. While at SNU, he served on the Student Activities Leadership Team, participated in the Truth worship ensemble, SNU Crew, and Remedy (SNU’s traveling worship band), and was a member of the equestrian team. He also served as a junior marshal during the 2024–2025 commencement ceremonies and was a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. In addition, he participated in a mission trip to Brazil with SNU in Missions and currently serves at two local churches. After graduation, he plans to get married and work full-time at a behavioral therapy clinic.
