SNU Expands Education Access for Edmond Police Department Employees

[Bethany, Okla.] — Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is pleased to announce a new business partnership with the Edmond Police Department designed to expand employee access to higher education through SNU’s Professional & Graduate Studies Programs.
Facilitated by Dr. Emir A. Ruiz Esparza, Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs for Professional & Graduate Studies at SNU, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to supporting the professional growth and educational goals of the men and women who serve the Edmond community.
Through the partnership, Edmond Police Department employees are eligible for SNU’s Tuition Advantage Benefit (TAB), a per-credit-hour discount that will make it more affordable to pursue a college degree while balancing the demands of a law enforcement career. In addition, employees’ Police Academy and Field Training have been evaluated and are eligible for college credit, helping them earn a bachelor’s degree faster by recognizing the knowledge and skills they have already gained through professional training.
“We are honored to partner with the Edmond Police Department to help create new educational opportunities for those who dedicate their careers to serving others,” said Dr. Ruiz Esparza. “By recognizing prior professional training and providing flexible pathways to higher education, we hope to make it easier for officers and employees to achieve their academic goals while continuing to make a meaningful impact in their communities.”
SNU’s Professional & Graduate Studies programs are designed for working adults and offer flexible online and evening learning options in high-demand fields including business, psychology, education, healthcare, counseling, leadership, and more.
