Southern Nazarene University’s Nursing Program Receives 10-Year Accreditation from CCNE

Bethany, OK — Southern Nazarene University (SNU) is pleased to announce that its baccalaureate degree program in nursing has been granted a full 10-year accreditation by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). This represents an extension of this prestigious accreditation through June 30, 2035.

The decision was made by the CCNE Board of Commissioners during its meeting held April 29–May 1, 2025, following a comprehensive on-site evaluation of the program. The Board found that SNU’s nursing program met all four accreditation standards, with the evaluation team having reported no compliance concerns across key elements.

“This 10-year accreditation affirms the exceptional quality of our nursing faculty, curriculum, and student outcomes,” said Dr. Carol Dorough, Chair of the School of Nursing. “It reflects our deep commitment to preparing compassionate, competent, and Christ-centered nursing professionals.”

“SNU is thrilled with this approval and recognition by the CCNE,” said Dr. Keith Newman, President of Southern Nazarene University. “This achievement is a testament to the dedication and excellence of our nursing faculty, staff, and students. We remain committed to our mission of making Christlike disciples through higher education.”
