Health Sciences (BS)
Overview

The Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences (HSC) is an individually personalized degree designed for students interested in serving in the healthcare field. The program advisor develops individualized degree plans in collaboration with each student. Due to flexibility in the curriculum structure, students may be able to complete a double major or multiple minors. For students interested in pursuing a pathway in preparation for a graduate program, the prerequisites required for those degrees are integrated into the curriculum plan.
Outcomes
- Discuss the structure and functions of the health care system in the United States.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the management of human and fiscal resources in the delivery of healthcare.
- Critique legal, ethical, and political issues that contribute to policies and practices in healthcare.
- Demonstrate characteristics and behaviors of leadership and professionalism in healthcare practice.
- Articulate how healthcare access and quality is related to the Social Determinants of Health.
