Presidential Leadership Scholars

Eligibility

Incoming Freshmen/Transfers for 2026-2027 – with a minimum 3.4 GPA on their 6-semester transcript, 23 ACT*, and FAFSA submitted to SNU (school code 003149).  

MISSION STATEMENT

SNU'S Presidential Leadership Scholars program seeks to develop Christian LiveLast leaders through interactions with University leaders, interactive training, and service to the University. 

Programming & Requirements

  • PLS students should show active involvement in campus student organizations.
  • PLS students are trained to serve as Ambassadors, campus tour guides, and administrative support. 
  • PLS students commit an average of 2 hours per week as an SNU Ambassador with the Office of Admissions.
  • PLS students will serve as SNU Ambassadors for our annual on-campus Putnam City College fair, as well as having the opportunity to participate on student panels during admissions events.  PLS students may be called on to serve at local college fairs or at local church visits with Admissions staff.
  • PLS students participate in four mandatory leadership trainings per semester. Time and location TBA.
 
 

Incentives

PLS Students will receive the following incentives for their participation in the program:

  • $1500 scholarship (awarded $750 a semester) toward tuition, fees, and/or housing

  • Mentored and developed as a leader

  • PLS attire will be provided and should be worn for ambassadorship.

HOW TO APPLY

Submit the application to apply for the Presidential Leadership Scholars. Application deadlines are listed below. 

IMPORTANT DATES: 

Application Opens - Friday, October 31

Application Closes - Friday, February 20

Scholarship recipients will be notified the week of March 16th, 2026.

+  Each student will be evaluated holistically.  

+ Incentives are dependent upon class and applicant. The scholarships can be renewed for up to four years for incoming freshmen. All are contingent upon review.  

+ Requirements for the PLS scholarship (above) will be outlined specifically in the scholarship contract.
