SNU’s Spring Planting Campaign Invites Supporters to “Spring Into Giving”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

[Bethany, OK] - On April 21, 2026, Southern Nazarene University invites students, alumni, and friends to participate in its fourth annual spring giving day, Spring Planting. Part of a biannual initiative alongside a fall giving day, Spring Planting is hosted by the SNU Advancement Department in the Office of University Relations.

Spring Planting provides supporters with the opportunity to give online or by mail to the SNU Fund, which supports scholarships for students across campus. Donors also have the option to designate their gift to any area of the University that is most significant to them. This year, supporters are encouraged to consider creating a recurring monthly gift, which can allow donors to, “...make a more meaningful impact than they might be able to do with a one-time contribution. It spreads giving across the year, making it more manageable while providing consistent support for students and programs.”

Heather Fairbanks, Associate Vice President for Advancement, expounds on the significance of Spring Planting, saying, “Your support during Spring Planting gives students the stability they need to focus on learning, growing, and becoming who God created them to be. Students may never meet you, but they feel your faithfulness- day in and day out- through the opportunities your gifts provide.”

Dr. Keith Newman, President of SNU, adds, “Every spring, we’re reminded that real growth doesn’t happen overnight - it happens through steady care and faithful investment. Your giving impacts our students every day as they develop academically, socially, and spiritually.”

Throughout the month, the SNU Advancement team will share donor and student stories on the University’s website and across major social media platforms, including Facebook and Instagram. Those interested in supporting Spring Planting or tracking the day’s progress can visit snu.edu/spring-planting or contact Heather Fairbanks at hfairbanks@snu.edu.
