Welcome Home!

homecoming friends

Southern Nazarene University is looking forward to welcoming alumni, our current campus community, and friends of the university to the 2023 Homecoming celebration on November 10th and 11th. All who attend can anticipate a sense of familiarity, fondness, and fun as we come together on campus to celebrate with friends and reconnect with classmates. The schedule is full, and the energy will be high for an incredible weekend.

When asked about the upcoming homecoming activities Executive Director of Alumni Relations, Todd Brant, shared “We are grateful for the commitment from SNU Administration and the entire campus community in providing leadership for events including SNU Academic Open Houses, SNU Men’s Basketball, Football, and Rugby Games, SNU Crimson Cakes and Run, a performance of the musical Hunchback of Notre Dame, a Veterans Day Observance, and a Dinner and Musical Review to name a few.” For more information about when certain events take place during homecoming weekend, you can find a more detailed schedule here.

SNU current students can expect a packed weekend as well. Howdy Homecoming, the musical, a bonfire, a 5K, and, of course, the homecoming athletic games are the tip of the iceberg. “All-inclusive” Homecoming packages will be available for students purchase that will incorporate a Homecoming t-shirt, bracelet, beanie, entry to Howdy Homecoming, s’mores at the Res Life Bonfire, free entry to the musical, a free item at the tailgate food trucks, and gear for the football game.

Dr. Blair Spindle, Campus Pastor and Associate Vice President of Christian Community, along with Katy Bradley, Associate Vice President of Student Life and Dean of Students, shared a joint excitement for students to join in the Homecoming activities and interact with as many alumni as possible. Katy continued, “I know Alumni love to hear from students about their current experiences. I hope students will attend all the Homecoming events they can. It’s going to be a full, fun weekend!”

Students, be on the lookout for posters and social media accounts for more information about homecoming.  For alumni and friends of the university interested in attending, registration is still OPEN! For those who would like to serve during portions of the weekend, there are a variety of times and locations to choose from. Volunteer opportunities can be found on the site as well. We look forward to the fellowship these events bring and encourage alumni who live far away or just around the corner to join us for this exciting weekend.
