SNU Esports Program Hosts Preview Day for Prospective High School Students
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[Bethany, OK] - Southern Nazarene University is slated to host its first ever Esports Preview Day for high school juniors and seniors interested in joining the SNU Esports Program. The event will take place on the Bethany campus of SNU on February 27th, starting at 9 a.m.
Preview Day attendees will have the opportunity to meet with the SNU Esports coaching staff, tour the gaming facilities, and learn about scholarship opportunities and ways to plug into SNU campus life.
Austin Schoenfeldt, Director of SNU Esports, says, “We are very excited to host our first annual Esports Preview Day! With the rise of Esports in both high schools and colleges across the nation, our program stands proud on the foundation it has built. After bringing in multiple championships and making a trip to the national title in 2025, we couldn't be more thrilled to host high school students on our campus who have the chance to build the future of this program. We will be able to show off our very own Esports room and talk to students about the scholarship opportunities we have as a program. I and all of the players cannot wait for this opportunity and welcome anyone that is interested in pursuing what it looks like to play collegiate Esports!”
The SNU Esports team has competed since 2022 and offers opportunities to play on six teams. SNU Esports holds full membership as part of the SNU Athletic program, giving participants, “…the chance to compete, travel, and represent the Crimson Storm while doing what they love.” Gamers are provided with paid travel as well as complimentary team gear.
SNU Esports Preview Day is on Friday, February 27th. Doors open at 8:45 a.m., and the event begins at 9 a.m. Any high school student in their junior or senior year interested in attending can receive more information or register at snu.edu/esports-preview.
