Registration is Open for Becoming 2024
Registration for Becoming is still open! Becoming is a one-day annual event hosted for high school junior and senior girls. This event will be held on the Southern Nazarene University campus on Friday, January 26, from 1:00 – 6:30 pm. Students who attend will have the opportunity to hear from fantastic women in leadership and practice creativity together through hands-on activities!
Throughout Becoming, students will be led to explore their gifts, where their true value originates, and how to look forward to the future with hope and expectation. Together, we will be inspired to define, discover, chase down, and live out our God-given purpose. Becoming’s guest speakers include SNU alumni Gaby Rodriguez, D. Th., Kate Myers, and current SNU professor Cameron Lopez, PsyD.
The goal is that each participant will leave better knowing how to care for their mind, body, and spirit. Gaby Rodriguez is a pastor who will be teaching how to care for our souls. Kate Myers is a hormone coach and doula. She will be teaching us how to care for our bodies. Lastly, Cameron Lopez will teach us how to care for our minds.
During this disco ball-themed, one-day conference, students will experience an amazing community and gain new insight on how to care for themselves well. The high school juniors and seniors will also get to mingle with current SNU student leaders and have meaningful table discussions as they critically think together about all life holds in this season. SNU leaders will be present to guide attendees through a hands-on disco ball painting activity, all while enjoying the open coffee bar and a delicious pasta dinner.
Identifying how God wants to use us can be a process. It’s easy to forget in a performance-driven culture that we have value beyond what we do and what we bring to the table. Who we’re becoming determines our impact; that’s what really matters. We hope your high school students join us for this life-changing women’s event! Spread the word while sign-ups are still open.
